Being Innovative - A Nice Short Story !

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were u the one who changed my sign this morning? What did u write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what u said but in a different way."

What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it."

Do u think the first sign & the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the
second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story :

Be thankful for what you have.

Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Thoughtful Morning Messages !

Compromise : The art of dividing a cake in such a way that
everybody believes he got the biggest piece.

When you get right down to the root of the meaning of the word "succeed,"
you find that it simply means to follow through.

Cool Morning Thoughts !!

No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission.

Most people will be about as happy, as they decide to be

Others can stop you temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

Success stops when you do.

When your ship comes in.... make sure you are willing to unload it.

You will never have it all together.

Perception - Way to see Life !!

In Washington DC, at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes.  During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.  After about 3 minutes, a middle-aged man noticed that there was a musician playing.  He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds, and then he hurried on to meet his schedule.

About 4 minutes later: - The violinist received his first dollar.  A woman threw money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes: - A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes: - A 3-year old boy stopped, but his mother tugged him along hurriedly.  The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head the whole time.  This action was repeated by several other children, but every parent - without exception - forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes: - The musician played continuously.  Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while.  About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace.  The man collected a total of $32.

After 1 hour: - He finished playing and silence took over.  No one noticed and no one applauded.  There was no recognition at all.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world.  He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a Stradivarius violin worth $3.5 million dollars.  Two days before, Joshua Bell sold-out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100 each to sit and listen to him play the same music.

This is a true story.  Joshua Bell, playing incognito in the DC Metro Station, was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities.

This experiment raised several questions:
*In a common-place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?
*If so, do we stop to appreciate it?

*Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made . . .

How many other things are we missing as we rush through life?

Enlightening Morning Thoughts !!

Journey of life starts with a bag of luck and
an empty bag of experience.
The goal is to fill the bag of experience
before the bag of luck gets empty !!

The minute you settle for less than you deserve
You get even less than what you settled for
Nothing is too small to neglect and
Nothing is too big to attempt.

People who meet in the journey of life
expect a lot of things from you
But there are some idiots who
expect nothing than just "U".
They are your best buddies !!

You can find on the outside only what you possess on the inside.

~   Adolfo Montiel Ballesteros

Everyone has limits. You just have to learn what your own limits are
and deal with them accordingly.

Beautiful I've Learned Series - 3/6

I've learned....
that I can always pray for someone when
I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned....
that no matter how serious your life requires you to be,
everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned....
that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold
and a heart to understand.

I've learned....
that simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights
when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned....
that life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned....
that we should be glad God doesn't give us
everything we ask for.

WOW ... What a Lovely Day !!

There is Always the Other Side - So True !!

Other Side

“A Mother was reading a magazine and her cute little daughter every now and then distracted her. To keep her busy, she tore one page on which was printed the map of the world. She tore it into pieces and asked her to go to her room and put them together to make the map again.

She was sure her daughter would take a lot more time and probably whole of day to get it done. But the little one came back within minutes with perfect map.

When he asked how she could do it so quickly, she said, 'Oh… Mom, there is a man's face on the other side of the paper. I made the face perfect to get the map right."" she ran outside to
play leaving the mother surprised.”

Moral :

Perhaps there is always the other side to whatever you experience in this world. This story indirectly teaches a lesson. That is, whenever we come across a challenge or a puzzling situation, look at the other side...and will be surprised to see an easy way to tackle the problem or an acute difficulty.

HAVE A LOVELY DAY & WEEKEND AHEAD !!

Beautiful I've Learned Series - 2/6

I've learned....
that a smile is an inexpensive way
to improve your looks.

I've learned....
that I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned....
that when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned....
that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain,
but all the happiness and growth occurs
while you're climbing it.

I've learned....
that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances;
when it is requested and when it is a
life-threatening situation.

I've learned....
that the less time I have to work with,
the more things I get done.

Lovely Morning Poem !!

A Smile

A Smile Costs Nothing,
But Gives Much-
It Takes But A Moment,
But The Memory Of It Usually Lasts Forever.
None Are So Rich That Can Get Along Without It-
And None Are So Poor But That Can Be Made Rich By It.

It Enriches Those Who Receive,
Without Making Poor Those Who Give-
It Creates Sunshine In The Home,
Fosters Good Will In Business,
And Is The Best Antidote For Trouble-
And Yet It Cannot Be Begged, Borrowed, Or Stolen,
For It Is Of No Value
Unless It Is Given Away.

ENJOY YOUR DAY !!
